Quote of the Week
“People ask me why are you still coaching? I forgot to get fired and I’m not going to cheat.” – The HBC himself, Steve Spurrier on longevity.
Here’s the truth of the matter: we’ve been dancing around this for weeks now. Trying to find ways around it, prolonging this decision, doing anything possible to trick ourselves into thinking there was another solution.
Starting this week, we’ll be peeling back on the frequency of Alumni Beat newsletters, from weekly to bi-weekly. With a newborn in the family, full-time jobs (and then some), personal commitments – birthdays, weddings, travel, real-world happenings – and, of course, the newsletter, there just isn’t enough time for us to deliver each week at a level that meets our expectations.
We love Alumni Beat. It is our passion project. And at some point in the future it will return to a weekly newsletter!
There is a tremendous satisfaction that comes with talking to alumni and spreading the news of our great university. We greatly appreciate each and every message you, our readers, send us.
But when we do something, we intend to do it well. We want you to receive a good product. We want every email that hits your inbox to be something everyone – you, us, all of Gator Nation – can be proud of.
By moving the Beat to bi-weekly, we can ensure that each edition will be even stronger than before!
Once life slows down a little bit, we’ll jump back into delivering Alumni Beat weekly.
As always, thanks so much for reading. Whenever you have stories, send them our way and we’ll share in the newsletter.
